The Dynamic Trio: How Government, Academia and Industry are Building the Foundation of a Sustainable Future in the Bronx This year’s SED Conference will focus on the two essentials of New York City life that consume the most energy and so pose the greatest challenge to sustainability: the buildings in which we live and work and the transportation on which we ride between our jobs and our homes. Policy makers, industry leaders and educators will present and discuss existing and emerging technologies that best serve the Bronx community while preserving our collective urban environment. Come join SUMASA as we host Diane Spizzirro (Director, Career Service and Development, School of Professional Studies) and Thomas Abdallah (Deputy Vice President & Chief Environmental Engineer at MTA New York City Transit) for a discussion exploring the sustainability career landscape. Topics will include career paths and search strategies for careers in sustainability.

After the discussion, Diane will help students work on their elevator pitch and learn how to talk to recruiters. Bring a copy of your elevator pitch.

6:00pm – 6:30pm Check-in & Networking. Mingle with the SUMASA board
6:30pm – 7:30pm Discussion with Diane Spizzirro and Thomas Abdallah

The discussion will be followed by a reception and then a social at a local establishment.
