Sara is a full-time SUMA student and served as the School of Professional Studies Student Government (SPSSG) Representative for the SUMA program in 2017-18. She has a passion for integrating sustainable design and health, most recently for Tesla and Delos Living. Her achievements as the SPSSG Rep include creating an open platform for information across the SUMA program, organizing a SUMA Leadership Coalition to foster cross-organization goals and student-run initiatives, and designing and administering the SUMA Gear. Sara is a graduate of Union College, where she received a B.A. in Environmental Policy. She bikes to work every day and volunteers as a foster dog parent with NYC Shiba Inu Rescue.

Megan joined the SUMA program in Fall 2017 and attends classes full-time. She is interested in climate science communication and urban sustainability, particularly infrastructure resilience projects. Her previous experience includes project management and GIS services in the engineering industry. She holds an M.S. in Geographic Information Systems from University of Denver, and she holds a dual B.A. in English Literature and Studies in Women and Gender from University of Virginia. Megan calls both Virginia and Alaska home, and tries to spend time hiking, practicing yoga, or cross-country skiing when she’s not working.

Robert (Beau) Barbe
Beau has been a SUMA student since Fall 2017. His professional interests include sustainable finance and investment as well as public health. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Business Sustainability Management and a B.S. in Business from Miami University. During his time in China working as a financial analyst and advisor in the clean energy industry, Beau also served as Vice-Chair of the Beijing American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Young Professional Committee. Outside of SUMA, you can find him on the rugby field or the ski slopes.
VP OF EVENTS
Evan joined the SUMA program in 2017, bringing with him an interest in conservation, sustainable development, and visual data analysis. Originally from Ohio, he earned his B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Ohio State University. He has been an active volunteer for the Rotaract Club, providing expertise in marketing, membership, and finance. Evan enjoys finding creative ways to bring people together, whether it’s attending an outdoor concert, singing karaoke, or going on a quest for the perfect dumpling.

Kristen attends the SUMA program part-time and works as a program manager for the Tamer Fund for Social Ventures at the Columbia Business School. She has been a SUMA student since Fall 2017, and her interests lie in corporate sustainability, sustainable food, and climate change. Previously, she was a management consultant for PwC and earned a dual B.S. in Environmental Studies and Leadership Studies from University of Richmond. She is from Randolph, NJ, and enjoys horseback riding, yoga, and traveling.

Savannah joined the SUMA program in Fall 2017, following a dual M.S./B.S. program in Operations Management. Experienced in supply chain coordination and logistics, she currently works for Farylrobin on their supply chain team. Savannah is also a seasoned student leader, previously working in event coordination and communications during her time at University of Alabama.
Maria Jose Guillen
Maria Jose became a SUMA student in Spring 2018. Her interests include sustainable finance and information technology. She holds a B.S. in Management from the Boston College Carroll School of Management. Maria Jose previously worked as an associate for PwC and has professional and volunteer experience in event management.

Julia joined the SUMA program in Fall 2017 and is a full-time student from New York, NY. She currently works as an analyst for Ecogy Energy. Her sustainability interests include renewable energy, clean tech, and equity in the energy transition. Julia earned a dual B.S./B.A. in Chemistry and Environmental Studies from George Washington University. She enjoys exploring museums and walking around the city.
Miljan joined the SUMA program as a full-time student in Fall 2018. His sustainability interests include water, supply chains and communications. Prior to the program he worked in renewable energy policy development, food & beverage and alternative investments. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Science from Columbia College with a focus in water resource management.
