Columbia Aquanauts this fall

This is a message from a University-wide water issues awareness group – ‘The Aquanauts’. Your classmates Lulu Almana and Sweta Jhunjhunwala are active members of this group. They will hold their first meeting 7:00 – 7:45 PM, Tuesday, September 11 outside Pupin near the Community Garden.

Thanks for expressing interest in Aquanauts last semester. We are looking forward to seeing you again in the fall and are planning exciting events and projects. We are planning to…

1) Hold a water symposium at Columbia to discuss issues of water security
2) Go on fieldtrips to water-related sites in New York
3) Host film screenings on campus about water
4) Participate in a rainwater campus project
5) Write blog posts about water security
6) Offer paid internships through Columbia Water Center.

We will hold our weekly meetings on Tuesdays this semester from 7:00-7:45 p.m. If you have a conflict at that time, please let us know. Please also join us for our field trips, film screenings and other events later in the week! We will let you know about exact dates in the coming weeks.
 
If you are interested in writing about water research that you conducted this summer or simply would like to write about the state of water resources where you’ve visited, please let us know! We are accepting blog posts for the Columbia Water Center blog.
