Represent the School of Continuing Education for the CU Senate

The School of Continuing Education announces the election of a student representative for the Columbia University Senate.  The Senate is a University-wide legislature, representing faculty, students and other constituencies. It makes policy on a range of issues that affect the entire University, including educational programs and priorities, budgets, academic freedom and tenure, conduct of research, libraries, information technology, Columbia’s external relations, student sexual misconduct, rules governing political demonstrations, and the welfare of faculty, students, and research officers. Trustee concurrence is required for acts of the Senate.

Any MS student may submit a self-nomination to Associate Dean Cindy Justice via email to cbj2110@columbia.edu. Nominations must include a personal statement of intent, a statement outlining the merit of ones candidacy and an updated resume.  The nomination deadline is 5 pm Friday, September 21, 2012.
