The Earth Institute welcomes Jeremy Grantham, co-founder of investment firm Grantham Mayo Van Otterloo (GMO), to Columbia University for a talk about environmental constraints, such as climate change and resource depletion, on the global economy. Grantham brings a financier’s perspective to some of the greatest sustainability challenges of our time. GMO is an investment management firm in Boston that currently manages more than $100 billion, predominately for large institutions. Grantham is the firm’s chief investment strategist, a member of the board, an active member of its asset allocation division and the author of a quarterly letter to clients. He is also an environmental philanthropist, having established the Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment in 1998.
