The Walk-In Cookbook Event is this Friday! If you are attending, please RSVP to Jeremy atjrc2200@columbia.edu with the subject line “Walk-In Cookbook”. RSVP closes Wednesday, November 13 at 5pm.
Details:
The Walk-in Cookbook is a social enterprise based at 72 7th avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, started with the aim of reducing food waste in America to zero. The new concept food store makes grocery shopping for your meal more approachable and sustainable for occasional and first time cooks. Enter the store and select a meal among a seasonal offering of fifteen and more, pick all the pre-portioned ingredients and a recipe card, and you are ready to prepare a healthy home cooked meal without worrying about any food going to waste. Bring us back the meal packaging and we will not only recycle 100% of it, but give you 5% off your next one.
The Walk-in Cookbook was started in summer 2013 by Filip Nuytemans and Guido Molinari. Filip is a former international team leader at Nestle for which he worked at the four ends of the globe. He holds a master’s degree in bio-science engineering, a master degree in management, and a joint master degree in international management. He is an alumnus of KU Leuven, HEC Paris, and ESADE. Guido is a former investment banker at Merrill Lynch for which he worked in the energy M&A team in London. He is the founder and CEO of Divino, the top brand of Italian gelato desserts in the UK (www.divinodessert.com), and holds a master’s degree in management, a joint master’s degree in international management, and a graduate degree in history of art. He is alumnus of Bocconi University, HEC Paris, the London School of Economics, and the Courtauld Institute of Art. He is a visiting lecturer on entrepreneurship at the London School of Economics and Imperial College London.
