Baruch College 5th Annual Symposium on Sustainable Business – Friday, February 8th
On February 8th, Baruch College will host its 5th Annual Symposium on Sustainable Business. This year's Symposium will examine how multinational corporations are attempting to overcome these challenges. The Symposium will explore ESG, the acronym which describes the three areas of focus used - environment, social and governance - when measuring and reporting on business sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Sustainability Seminar Series: IRRI Mexico: Projects for Local Sustainable Solutions – Saturday, February 9th
On Saturday, February 9th, The Earth Institute will be holding the first of its Spring 2013 EI Sustainability Seminars. The topic is IRRI Mexico: Projects for Local Sustainable Solutions, presented by Alexander Eaton and Enrique Ionmintz. The seminar will ask students to think critically about the challenges being faced by the projects and to draw on their skills and interests to develop and propose potential solutions and strategies that could provide direct value to these efforts.
Alumni Profile: Uta Jungermann
M.S. in Sustainability Management (MSSM) alum Uta Jungermann (’12) has had a varied array of professional experiences. Prior to joining the MSSM program, she had worked in the tourism industry as well as in finance. Upon completing the program last spring, Uta’s career path took her to Geneva, Switzerland, where she currently works for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), a CEO-led organization of companies that galvanizes the global business community to create a sustainable future for business.
