Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory Open House — Saturday, October 6th

The Earth Institute’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) presents the annual Open House on October 6, 2012 from 10am-4pm. The Open House is free and open to the public and will include lab tours, hands-on demonstrations, and more.

Additionally, volunteers are needed for 2-3 hour blocks of time throughout the day.  The volunteer assignments include staffing the welcome tent, gift shop tent, helping researchers and scientists in the various exhibit tents, helping to staff student groups, ushering guests and a host of other activities.  Morning volunteers – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, should plan to be at Lamont no later than 9:30 a.m.

Volunteers are given an Open House t-shirt, a meal ticket and transportation to and from Open House.  They are also invited to attend the Alumni/Volunteer BBQ at 4:30 p.m. on the grounds behind Lamont Hall.  Food and drink are provided at the BBQ.
